welcome to middle east exclusive

I would like to welcome all exhibitors and visitors to the 7th middle east exclusive exposition that will be held in Dubai from 2-4 February 2010.

The only show of its kind in the region, this trade fair brings together international and regional representatives of the travel retail industry and showcases the world’s leading and most luxurious brands.

In spite of the uncertain global economic climate, the response to the 2009 exhibition was encouraging. This only proves that middle east exclusive continues to provide an effective business platform for the region’s rapidly expanding duty free and luxury goods industry.

Duty free sales in the Middle East have more than trebled in the past ten years and the region is poised to develop this sector even further as multibillion-dollar investments in the airports, airlines and hospitality industries continue to be implemented throughout the region.

The UAE’s travel and tourism industry also remains upbeat about its long-term prospects with ongoing positive growth reflected in its hotel, leisure and retail sectors. Other countries in the region are pursuing impressive tourism-related development projects of their own – a trend that bodes well for the future of the duty free industry and related businesses.Indeed, the Middle East’s duty free industry is facing an exciting and bright future.

On behalf of the Government of Dubai, I wish you a rewarding and fruitful time at middle east exclusive.
